“Biker Nights”, an event organized by bikers for bikers is celebrating its 5thanniversary this year and has prepared an extraordinary present for fans of true music – progressive rockers from Denmark, “ROYAL HUNT”, are going to mount this year’s stage! The band is currently presenting their newest album, “Show Me How To Live”, and touring around the world, including our very own “Biker Nights”, Japan, Korea, Russia, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Portugal and many more countries. To “Royal Hunt”, a band with worldwide recognition and more than a million records sold, this concert is going to be the first one in Lithuania.
BIKER NIGHTS
A joint project between two Kaunas biker clubs “Forever Free MCC” and “Steely Pegasus MC” lasting for 5 years, “Biker Nights” has outgrew the traditional biker feast format and evolved into a true rock festival, where the stage is shared by both Lithuanian rock monsters such as Povilas Meškėla and “Rojaus Tūzai”, “Thundertale”, “Soul stealer”, “Katedra”, “Bon Jeans” and fresh young bands.
The festival traditionally takes place in camp “Pušynas“, Jadagonys, district of Kaunas, and enjoys a large crowd of loyal friends and fans. Each year more and more guests both from Lithuania and abroad are enchanted by the excellent surroundings, beautiful nature and free spirited atmosphere.
“Biker Nights” is not only about music – during the daytime an antiquarian fair and motorcycle drag racing are held in the territory of “Urmas”, the festival’s general sponsor.
This year “Biker Nights” invite you to join our 5thbirthday celebrations and dance to the sounds of bands as “Thundertale”, “Poliarizuoti stiklai”, “Alive Way”, admire the gorgeous ladies of “Miss Biker – 2012” and maybe even do some head-banging with our very special guests – “ROYAL HUNT”.
ROYAL HUNT
Progressive rock band “Royal Hunt” was founded by a talented keyboardist Andre Andersen in Denmark, 1989. He was inspired not only by classical musicians like Mozart, Paganini, but also by rock gods “Deep Purple”, “Yes”, “Rush”, “Queen”, “Saga” since early childhood, thus the music of “Royal Hunt” is a synthesis of both progressive metal and melodic classic masterpieces.
Success had no hesitations – the band‘s debut album “Land of Broken Hearts” (1992) was released not only in Scandinavia, but in the USA and Japan too. Yet worldwide recognition came with D. C. Cooper, an American singer – their collaboration, “Moving Target” (1995) achieved exceptionally positive reviews and was nominated for a “Grammy” award as “Best rock album” in Denmark. It was followed by “Paradox” (1997) – a conceptual album, which provoked a lot of discussions yet gained even more positive reviews. “Paradox” was especially successful in Japan, where the band has had a cult following for more than two decades. The end of the millennium was noted by a grand world tour, after which the team implemented a truly ambitious project: three albums, connected by American Sci-Fi classic Ray Bradbury’s “Martian Chronicles”, appeared one after another.
Even though each album was followed by long-term concert tours, one can only admire the band‘s creative productivity: as for today, “Royal Hunt“ has released 11 studio albums and 13 singles, not to mention compilations and concerts. These rock monsters have sold more than a million records and enjoy a loyal fanbase all over the globe.
There have been significant changes in the line-up during the history of this famous group – D. C. Cooper, the vocalist, left the band in 1998 and was replaced by John West , who withdrew in 2007 to leave the microphone for Mark Boals. But last autumn D. C. Cooper finally listened to numerous requests from fans and event organizers and joined the band for their newest album – “Show Me How To Live“, which was released in December 2011. This album – the 11th studio album for “Royal Hunt“ – is described as exceptionally melodic, creatively arranged and super quality music, enjoyed both by neo-classical and progressive music fans.
